and the story of how Coastal Care began

Our Partnership

Three partners brought together by shared vision

A shared recognition of the need for a values-driven home health company focused on both client and employee experience brought us together.

Now our growing caregiving team collectively has hundreds of years of experience working in hospitals and clinical settings on Cape Cod.

It's our calling and our pleasure to provide care to members of our community and their families in times of need.

Amanda

Director of Nursing

Amanda grew up "just over the bridge" and followed her interest in medicine to become a registered nurse right out of high school. She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and then spent more than a decade as a certified emergency room nurse.

Amanda entered homecare in the covid era, providing skilled nursing and administering IV infusions in the home. She also shifted from bedside ER role to a hospital manager role at a local hospital.

Through experience in the hospital setting, Amanda began to see the need for care in the community. Her goal is to shift care in home to keep people healthy in their preferred setting; keeping them out of the hospital, preventing admissions and/or readmissions, and preventing the decompensation that unfortunately follows prolonged hospital stays.

Tara

Director of Homecare

Tara was born and raised here on Cape Cod with deep family ties to the community. In her more than two decades of experience in local hospital and private home care, she has cared for thousands of people here on the Cape.

She recognized the evolving and increasing need for care in the home and private settings. From personal care support to hospice, end of life care, fall prevention, memory care… Tara has done it all.

She wanted to create a resource space where clients and their families could find care to meet all of their needs with an RN-supervised care plan that evolves as needs can change, sometimes abruptly. She teamed up with Amanda and the Coastal Care vision was born.

Tom

Managing Director

Tom’s family also has deep roots on Cape Cod. His grandfather built many of the houses in Centerville, helped found a local church in the 1950s, and build some of the community developments where so many people live and work and gather today. Tom's father used his expertise to help many community organizations survive and flourish over his lifetime. Tom follows in those same footsteps, in working hard for the benefit of those around him.

Tom spent a decade in the business technology world, but after marrying Amanda and hearing from her and Tara about the need for comprehensive home care in the community, as well as a first-hand experience with less-than-ideal care, he got to work to make their vision a reality.

Shared Vision for a People First Company

Amanda, Tara, and Tom all believe that one of the best ways to provide the highest level of care and service to clients and their families is to hire the best team members around and take good care of them. Through partnerships across the Cape, we support and encourage our team members' growth and development, from specific skill training to programs for HHA, CNA certifications and LPN, and RN licensing.
